Hopefully I am not out of line posting this but enough money was raised from pilot donations to present each furloughee with a gift card for $125. $100 over the initial goal. Thanks to all who donated and especially those who took the time to hatch the idea and organize it!

It's a great idea to have the donation for those furloughed. I hope every person over 60 has donated? Not trying to be mean but they won this incredible lottery on December 13, 2007 so maybe they could share a little extra with those who're now furloughed? I really hope 100% of those over 60 donated...
For all those who gave, thanks, I'm impressed with the response. Thanks to those to organized it too. Maybe they should organize pilots for a better contract too, they are good at it.
Merry Christmas to those furloughed pilots, hope to see you back soon.

Thanks
On behalf of my family -- I am the low man on the totem pole (#147 of 147 fourloughees) -- I deeply appreciate the efforts. This is a big deal and shows some class in a business that seems to lack it sometimes.
Again, a very big thank you. Class act all around.

Corrected: Awesome project, best of luck to all involved. I was missinformed about who was running the project so please excuse previously post...

This isn't being done by the union. It was thought up by a very caring individual, and the donations are given freely by fellow CAL pilots (China Airlines included.)
