Obama's Options to Lead the FAA
Apparently Obama's looking at possibly putting Duane Woerth in charge of the FAA. Sounds interesting to me. I know a lot of pilots didn't like him when he was in charge of ALPA, but maybe he'd be a better choice than a lot of the other traditional options, which are usually industry insiders or government insiders. Putting someone who has organized labor experience in a position that high could be a good thing. What do you guys/gals think?

Knowing Duane personally, I think he'd be an outstanding choice.
Certainly much better than the politcos who traditionally get appointed to the office.

An idiot who has no experience execpt for 145 days in Senate, appoints another idiot to run an already idiot goverment office. It's going to be fun boy girls. So first thing in order for today will be to rid pilots from carring guns.

Please Say it Ain't so
After having worked at ALPO National in both Herndon and downtown D.C. for a number of years, I was shocked to see Duane Worthless's name surface. Give the man credit. He is a Washington insider who spent years promoting himself and his career, so I shouldn't be surprised. Oh...I'm sorry. Was he supposed to represent the ALPA line pilots and their concerns during those years ? He was probably just too busy with his own agenda.
What I would like to know is why not simply make Bobby Sturgell's position permanent ? He has been at FAA for several years, knows the ins and outs of the agency and was a line pilot and ALPA member. Besides, he has demonstrated that he has the tools to get the job done.
Let's just leave Worthless as a lobbyist where he can use his honed skills to attend fancy dinners, enjoy the good life and promote himself ...at someone else's expense.
G'Luck Mates if he's appointed
