Any news on any Legacy/Major recalls/hiring in the next 6 -12 months??

Just wondering if anyone is hearing rumblings of hiring at any of the airlines out there in the future. I know there are furloughs and whatnot, but I heard through the grapevine CAL maybe recalling guys and possibly hiring again. Also DAL in the latter part of this year - the beginning of next. Wondering if anyone who was furloughed at places such as CAL, UAL, AAI is hearing news of being recalled.

Lots of rumors at Delta. Some say hiring will commence after the merger is final. Some say furloughs will commence after the merger is final.
I suspect it will depend on three things:
1) Once the Justice Dept finally gives the OK, management will stop blowing constant sunshine up our skirts and reveal their true plans. Lots of flying and aircraft will be moved around.
2) the economy
3) the economy

Furlough last month, hire next month? I don't think so. CAL won't be hiring for awhile. CAL also pushed back some aircraft orders a year due to Boeing strike & economy.

CAL still hasn't trained the people displaced from seat to seat and plane to plane. They are not going to change back again soon. Until you hear from CAL, it's a rumor. Good luck on furlough. I hope it's a raise for you.

A dude on a LOA from CAL spoke with a Sr. Capt at IAH who told him that. I guess they have also had a few guys retire recently. I'm sure it's not true or anything, that is why I was asking the question, not meaning to be malicious or anything.

Being an LSU graduate, I don't know if I should answer you. Just kidding. I separated and am in the Guard now. I have some friends who VSP'ed and I can ask them.
