All of us are receiving voluntary recalls letters. But nobody should take them up on their offer. Give it six months, and they will be paying for us to come back.

Strange because I have not received voluntary recall letter (although I would burn it before it made its way into my house). I VSP'd Sep 29th 07, anyone with that date received a letter? There is a number in my head that would make me come back, but man is it a high number

Why not? Airlines like to hire one month, and then furlough the next, so why not vice versa?

I heard it was for ISR pilot slots. If anyone doesn't quite know what ISR is...ISR = UAV. I bet they want you to give the money back. After the election I'm sure the AF will downsize and those who came back on will get RIF'ed and their base with get BRAC'ed, just so they can't sell their house.

[QUOTE= If anyone doesn't quite know what ISR is...ISR = UAV. [/QUOTE]

There are a small group of us that did the ISR mission and had nothing to do with UAVs. I would agree though, coming back in would probably be a quick route to a UAV job - unless you already have experience in a an under-manned ISR platform.

I took the VSP with a separation date of 29 Sep 07, and I received the letter about a week ago.

I think the airlines have finally realized how to get the prices of tickets up to where they should be. The only way to do this is to cut some of the domestic capacity out of the market. For the first time ever, most of the airlines are cutting back at the same time. So recall soon? Not likely.
