Default American Retirements

I know alot of guys retired after the minor downturn a couple months ago. Do any of you see massive retirements now that the market has really taken a dive? I guess they would still be able to lock in their retirement with the market rates of a few months ago?

Yes, 90 days prior for end of Oct retirements, that means locking the price at the end of July 08.

With the world economy tanking due to the corporate CEO thieves and their government poodles, there could be more than normal retirements end of Oct.

C'mon old guys, just retire, you know you wanna... That way, us young bucks can pick up the slack! Hehehe... Just kidding. Why retire now, when the top guys can just sit back, work 10 days a month, and make $150,000+ a year. Plus, with the age 65 thing, they can hang out for an extra 5 years.

I get to be a FO again so the scabs can have another 5 years of flying.

(Note: I'm calling the CAL scabs who did not retire "scabs"; not anyone who doesn't retire at 60. Again, I'm calling scabs, "scabs"- no one else.)

The old f@#$s who stay and the DB funding percentage drops below 80% next year, bye bye Lump Sum payments.

How many do you have running around over there? Is there still any scuff between the groups or is the dust pretty much settled.

If you retire and lock in the stock at 11500, then you'll make more than you would working for the next 5 years. I have zero respect for someone flying for free while this industry furloughs. Sadly this profession is full of those who can't identify themselves without stripes.

Actually a lot closer to 200K (around 195K) for flying 9 days a month on the 777.
