Default Alaska Announces Reductions

Alaska is throwing the flight reductions and furlough announcement out there again. Hopefully, it just stays as a threat; but it seems likely they are intent on shrinking their way to domination.

Alaska Airlines Reduces Capacity 8 Percent; Trims Work Force 9 Percent to 10 Percent

They probably attended a seminar hosted by UAL management.

Really? QX is having problems getting rid of them. "Operating certain flights between Portland and the Bay Area with 70 seat Bombardier CRJ-700 regional jets flown by Horizon Air, instead of larger Boeing 737s flown by Alaska."

I also have a good friend who is the bottom of the CRJ CA's. He has been told he can expect to stay in that aircraft for a while. Plans have changed.

With both Horizon and Alaska in negotiations, Error Group mgmt is having a tough time deciding which group they'd rather stomp on....
