I believe Indigo, TPG is just an investor in Indigo. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Are you trying to say here that more NK airplanes are going overseas? If so I don't think the article implies that at all. As someone else stated the article says "brand new airplane." That right there says that the airframes are not coming from NK. I know the media has been known to make mistakes once and a while as well, however I don't think that's it's real rational to start assuming that every time a airline that Indigo has it's hand in get a new jet that it's coming from NK.
If that's not what you're trying to say than forget what I just said but I think that's what a lot of folks are taking from it.

Now all of this assumes the article is correct, when they claim "brand new aircraft" and they are "A319s". The press can get thing wrong.

I went on Airbus's website Airbus - Corporate Information - Orders & deliveries and looked up deliveries - there is a large excel sheet you can download with all their order/deliveries/operating.

It shows that Tiger Airways has only A320s on order. They have ordered 66, been delivered 8 and operate 12.

For Spirit, it shows this:

A319 Ordered 24, Delivered 7 and Operate 26
A320 Ordered 20, Delivered 0 and Operate 0
A321 Ordered 0, Delivered 0 and Operate 1

That is of Oct 31, 2008

I don't know where Tiger is getting these new 319's from all I'm saying is that I find it odd to immediately assume that they're coming from Spirit. There are a lot of 319's out there (177 in operations according to the Airbus spreadsheet) so to directly link whatever is going on with Tiger to NK simply because Indigo is a major shareholder in both I think is assuming a lot. That's the only point I was trying to make to Normann and possibly others who seems to link things going on with this Tiger directly to NK.
Changing the subject a little that spreadsheet does have some interesting info. Did you notice that Indigo took delivery themselves of quite a few airframes?

Actually I was trying to say the same thing. I don't think more planes will leave to Tiger from NK. The article said brand new planes, and that suggests factory deliveries. But the article could be worded poorly. It could also be completely inaccurate in other ways or have zero grounds like a large percentage of all media in today's word.

I highly doubt that these 319s will be going from Spirit to Tiger. I think that if Indigo could get its hands on more aircraft for NK they would be all over them right now. The last thing they would want to do is continue to shrink NK.

Tiger has leased 2 A320's to a company called SeAir out of the Philippines that hasn't started flying yet. These 319's could be replacing them.

And just for a correction Indigo limited Ltd. did not take delivery of those aircraft you see on the spreadsheet. There is an airline in India that flies New A320's called IndiGo.
