Please lay off Mulcher
Hey,
Mulch is entitled.
Mulch doesn't know what a safety school is.
Mulch calls his company's ramp agents - "rampers."
Mulch throws bags.
Mulch will bring a stroller up the steps.
Mulch gets 5 more years to sour in the right seat, and realise that each day in aviation is a day in "safety school",
thanks to the experienced pilot rule (age 65).
Give the first officer a break...

Hey,
Mulch is entitled. Thanks I agree.
Mulch doesn't know what a safety school is. Nope never heard the term before. I have only been flying for 20 years though. Maybe when I get your wisdom, knowledge and experience I will know everything.
Mulch calls his company's ramp agents - "rampers."Dont really see whats wrong with that. A buddy of mine has a long title, I call him a computer guy. Its just easier.
Mulch throws bags. I threw bags to help once and it was appreciated. I guess most pilots dont understand how to help fellow employees. Pretty sad actually.
Mulch will bring a stroller up the steps. Yep just did it the other day. Why not? I was heading up the stairs anyway. Its not above me to carry a stroller. Maybe for some priMadona types. Plus the Passengers appreciate getting the stroller a little faster. The "ramp agent" even said thanks.

Mulch,
I thought WN only hired exceptional employees/people.
I'm sure your flying skills are okay, but the recruitment department gave you a huge break.
Anyway, back to the thread:
Skybus 2, my thoughts -
start with only 5 planes
fly to/from little towns to the big and little towns in FL
don't grow too fast
10 minute turns ( bargain basement consumers can move quickly - have you ever seen holiday shoppers?)

Mr. Mulch one of the worst things professionally you can do is embarrass your company, I think we all can agree that Herb would want not you to be WN's company spokesman.
As for SKB II
If you have to ask how to get an airline to survive only by the town it's located in and not the "service area" then you just don't get it. 5,2000,000 people live with in 75 miles of Springfield, you have to thing larger than Springfield. The business model for the original Skybus was sound. Then some greedy inexperienced, terrible, money hungry, impatient, moody, back-stabbing, jack a$$ management knock off's took over and screwed it all up. The original creator of SKB knows what he's doing he'll create an airline you can proud of, not one that's a punch line. I mean isn't that what we all want, to be proud of our respective airlines?

Why is that 319 because I help out my fellow employees? I dont need a break from some ridicule on a message board. Like we both agreed ealier we dont know each other. Smooth I interviewed and got the job enough said. The only thing I have really mentioned is that I wouldnt take a low paying start up job. Those that do "to feed their families" really arent helping the situation. I guess the truth really gets to some. But like someone said great risk may be a great reward. Not the chance I would take for my family.
As for flying skills smooth. Come up with something a litle better then that. I am sure yours are far more superior then mine. I could give two chits about that by the way. Like I said before. If there werent pilots willing to work for those wages (like there always are) then start ups would have to pay better. Atleast VA is in the ballpark. SkyB was a joke for what they paid.
I live for today, tomorrow and 20 years from now. So I dont really care about the guys in the 70's. That horse is long dead. I hope VA makes it I really do. I would wish Skybus well, if they paid pilots close to an industry wage and didnt make them fetch water. Heck I wish the entire industry well. I even hope Frontier makes it through their rough times. They have a great product. If that makes me bad then so be it.

I only disagree with your assesment of "inexperienced". They were plenty of brains and experience in the head shed but way too much ego and all the other stuff you said.
I just don't get it!

I think you are riding that horse but won't admit it.
History is the foundation on which the future is built (I wish I knew who said that). By saying the horse is dead you deny some pilots their rightful place in history on building the airline.

However, my intended point (although I agree that it contained a measure of opacity) was that I thought WN hired for attitude.
From your posts, it seems that yours is a bit acerbic.
Over?..
