I don't have the reference handy but in November of 2007 Brace said we had 100 planes that were unencumbered. IIRC correctly that represented the entire guppy fleet. It may put to rest the lease company rumor as it appears to be part of the ALPA "No good news" network. The problem Wallach has is he can not allow any positive news for the pilot group. If he loses any traction then his ego and his efforts are spoiled. There will never be any "good" news for alpa to report as long as it is holding Tilton hostage. Every positive will be answered with a negative no matter how many jobs are saved. I can see Wallach telling us how much better off we would be if they parked the entire 737 fleet in the long run. And surprisingly there will be sheep willing to agree with him.

You seem to be a company hero by the sounds of it.

The unfortunate truth is that Tilton is much wiser than we give him credit for. He has played ALPA and the egomaniacs that wind their way to trip drop nirvana that is the ALPA office. We get a VP that was an ALPA National guy and that does not make you wonder?
I don't back the company hacks either. The truth is definitely in the middle and the B.S from both sides is painful.
