Default Mysterious Disappearing E-Note?

Skippy:

I logged in to UNIMATIC to check after I read this thread. I didn't find anything with all the details you had. Was it a flashing "Check your inbox" e-note, or something on the front-page news?

Flashing Enote... I got it too. Basically, they don't have a clue what they are doing. Says they are still planning on having all the Guppy's gone by the end of 2009 but they cut too deep for now. Don't believe anything these idiots say until it has actually happened. It will probably totally depend on what oil does between now and Dec 09.

my fellow u bros and sis' i just got a surplus cx phonecall from ops.

Basically she said they are cxing 128 of the 172 or so surpluses- so go figure.....

cant wait for the court update ASAP.

hang in there-- something is a brewing.

delta flying 737-700's to manaus from atl -- UFB and we cant make $$$

also hear that since the leasors wont take the planes back w/o a pretty nifty pnalty, it might be cheaper to fly the 737's at a loss then pay the penalty-- who knows-- every day another excuse and another problem woth no solution to either.

i just checked the enote and it says that due to an "updated forecast of 2009 flying hours and it's apparent the 737 fo surplus we did in july went too deep, accordingly we will be cxing some jluy surpluses for the 737 fo ord and den categories"

I thought overall there were 300+ surpluses (including DCA), or is the 178 number specifically in reference to ORD? As this next surplus is about to close, it is getting harder to see who stands where, thanks for any information.

Something is rotten in Denmark..........Yes something is a little stinky around here.....I just checked the surplus section on Skynet and saw that the surplus numbers were updated (to reflect the xld f/o surpluses), but here is what isn't adding up: In the July surplus, only 35 captains were surplused, in this latest surplus, 147 are being surplused as of the end of October. So let's do the math. 128 out of some 170 f/0 surpluses xld (roughly 42 surplused total), but now total, 180 captains surplused effective the end of October. Things that make you go hmmmm. Anyone see this differently? Maybe I'm not looking at this right but the disparity in the captain/f.o. ratio numbers make me uneasy and suspicious.

Don't waste too much time with figuring the math. This is all out of our control. I flew with a captain who gave me some good advice:"Just come to work until they tell you not to come anymore". Especially at United, where they can go from mitigationg the furloughs to liquidating the company in a heartbeat. Let's fasten our seatbelts, the Summer travel season is over and it may be a bumpy ride this Fall...

They should know what they need in man hours and airplanes. You dont change the numbers that much on oil going down 30 dollars. It could go back up tomorrow.
Actually OIL going down $30 is a huge swing on the profitability and the forecast of profits and cost. If the company was not adjusting the operation based on the cost of oil, and the appearance that it was a bubble we were experiencing versus a true rise in the cost, then that would be incompetence. Changing the business plan to try and get the best mix of mainline flying is always better in my opinion. To rationalize that you would prefer the company to park airplanes no matter what is absurd. Why not enjoy the fewer furloughs and perhaps the fewer bumps. Some of you guys are truly amazing!$^&*(&(*^&*&^%

My guess is that if oil had gone down and the company had not adjusted the numbers you would be here purporting incompetence for that also.
