Sure enough, saw the e-note on Unimatic. When this all started, the MEC stated the company had an unrealistic plan. Looks like they were right. Sure hope this helps as many as possible. For all the new hires who have been furloughed in September, I'm very sorry this happened.

They should know what they need in man hours and airplanes. You dont change the numbers that much on oil going down 30 dollars. It could go back up tomorrow.
Agreed !

While good news for UAL pilots, it shows the inability of the current management to plan and thing "ahead". They are incompetant emotional reactionists with little ability to properly run an airline.

While this is good news in the short term, it highlights the longterm gloomy outlook for UAL. As long as the current band of incompetant idiots are running the show, UAL will bleed to death like Apollo 13 and will one day sink faster than the USS Indianapolis.

It may take a while but Tilton and his band of chumps have all but mangled UAL's future.

As a replacement for the Guppy, did UAL look into getting more baby 'Buses? or 757's?

Internally, SkyWest thinks they are getting a chunk of new business from UAUA.

basically the enote stated that they may keep about 30 737's til the end of summer 09 and then ord and den will close the 737 domicile

i think they surplused more than they needed to keep people from bumping all around the system-- IE it was scheduled to be mroe than they needed to benefit them

court tomorrow yippie!

we're all just hanging from a thread---

also we got that flying on the 747 which keeps an extra 4 planes or soemthing flying ti phillipines and auckland etc-- so , that s the reason for at least needing those 4 747's and about 50ish 747 pilots.

just another day at united--

Whats your idea of a long time? A year, 2 years? I agree that Mgmt doesn't have a clue what is going on and I think the fluctuating oil prices are making their tiny brains spin. I could see them doing an about face on parking the planes if we could see a drop in the price of oil to around $80-90.

My whole new hire class turns into pumpkins at the end of September. None of us have been scheduled for our PCs so I assumed they were just going to let us sit at home for a month or two until we got furloughed. Apparently, TK has a list of all the people going NQ and they plan on getting us our PCs in October. I'll believe it when I'm actually sitting in the simulator.
