Sliding Seats Crush UAL Passengers
From KING5:
SEATTLE – A flight from Sea-Tac Airport to San Francisco had to turn around after a row of seats slid, crushing another row of passengers Sunday night.
United Airlines Flight 1139 took off at about 7 p.m.
A Sea-Tac Airport spokesman says while the plane was in the air, row number three slid back onto those passengers sitting in the next row.
However, a passenger on that flight tells KING 5 news the seats actually slid as the plane was just beginning to accelerate.

we're having major issues with MX right now due to the requirement of having the original equipment put back on for the return to the lessor.
we've had 2 compressor stalls and 1 engine failure in the past week and now this.
but the good news is, we just got another VP of MX. yippie

Funny related story, we had a KC10 crew in my unit who were on a V.I.P. flight. Upon rotation, the seats behind the center poker table detached and fell backward. It was a good thing the V.I.P. and his wife had their seatbelts securely fastened -- unfortunately they were not amused. They tried to crucify the crew for being at fault (how were they supposed to know this was going to happen?). Shortly thereafter, all V.I.P. flights had to have a mission commander in the rank of Major or Above.
