Northwest SJ Details

It is clear that Northwest has the lowest pay scale already of any of the majors. My favorite is the 747-200 scale. My god, there are guys flying jets that hold 10 people making that kind of money.

Regarding point 2. You'll be hard pressed to find any pilot on the property with a higher seniority than 2500 that is going to want to strike on the scope language in this TA. The goal, I believe, was to protect the DC-9 flying and to the greatest extent possible protect the 51-76 seat flying. I think they accomplished that. The cat got out of the hat years ago with Delta caving on their scope, allowing the flying of up to 70 seats to be flown by ASA and Comair. All the other carriers dumb enough to have RJ flying quickly followed.
We didn't give anything in this TA that is not already in existence at the other legacy carriers already. Alright, I'll give you credit for CAL, they have no 70 seat or higher flying, but the others...

This goes beyond scope. If this TA is approved (and IMHO it won't be)This will be the beginning of end of NWA
It is certainly not my position to say that all guys with seniority will vote for this TA and you are a perfect example of a more senior guy voting against it. However, my very informal poll based on the pilots I have talked with still tells me that by and large, the more senior pilots at NWA will vote for this TA and the more junior against. There is no doubt that this will be a very tight vote.

Been there, done that. Have you ever been furloughed? I have and returned to greener pastures.
I hope you truly do mean this. This TA is a gigantic, unfinished Peice of Sh!t and should not be ratified period.
Best of luck with your decision.

(PS, I know several NWA guys who will be voting "No" on this so I'm only directing this at Duffrick, not the others on here who will obviously reject this Piece of Sh!t)
I guess a spade's a spade.
I have been furloughed, not at NWA, but elsewhere.
I don't disagree with you that this TA has a very potent smell of manure to it. I am certainly not happy with it, but it beats UAL, AAA, AWA and it is not far behind CAL and AA.

Make no mistake, accept this and you fall into dead last place with future give-backs to come at your managements whim. Your negotiating committee can and will do far better than this with your support.

some airline analysts believe nwa will be able to do 70-75% of all DC-9 flying with the CRJ-700 that mesa, pinnacle, mesaba or commair will obtain. nwa is on its way to becoming a virtual airline...no planes , no mechanics, no pilots = NO PROBLEMS. the present management at nwa just wants to be a big travel agency and collect 5% of all tickest sold...they have no viable business plan as of yet.

the other scenario is ala swissair...nwa buys independence air....nwa sells the cargo division to dasburg at DHL...nwa goes chapter 7...in a fire sale some assets are sold and the 319's(already on flyi cert) along with some 330's are transfered to independence air. now you have a lcc with some nice assets and highly experienced employees.
