From a friend- I had a bad dream last night...... The FAA, *****y old 170 lb. flight attendants with rear ends the size of pack mules, bad schedules, non-reving, bad management, dead heading in the middle seat, mergers, seniority, all-nighters, no food, bad coffee, bidding, flea bag hotels, vacation, waiting for gates, weather, low approaches, PC's, PT's, weak check airmen, medicals, driving to work, commuting to and from work, spring break, Christmas, Easter, insurance, gas, electric bills, lawn service, can't drink, drug and alcohol testing, dry cleaning, security, TSA, terrorism, high gas/oil prices, IRS, rush hour traffic, that d*mn alarm clock, crash pads, co-pilots that tell you that you are a bit high and fast and she/he puts out the speed brakes 80 miles from the airport at 5000' when you are trying to get your commute flight home, flight attendants and co-pilots telling you they are senior after being there 3 years, cell phones, bidding every d*mn month, ........ Then I woke up and found myself still retired....... GRIN !!

2. SJs configured with 51-76 seats not owned, leased, financed, or controlled by NWA and operated at Feeder Carriers flying their own aircraft.[*] Furloughed NWA pilots are entitled to 5 new hire jobs at the Feeder Carrier operating the aircraft.
3. SJs configured with 51-76 seats which are owned, leased, or financed by NWA and operated at Feeder Carriers.[LIST][*]All parameters are the same as the previous section, and are included in the 55 aircraft limit, except the employment opportunities for furloughed NWA pilots.[*] Furloughed NWA pilots would then be entitled to of the Captain and of the First Officer positions created to operate the aircraft provided by NWA. (Except at Mesaba, where there are already pilots operating 35 Avros, which will be replaced.)[*] The furloughed NWA pilots employed at the Feeder Carrier would work under the terms of that carriers pilot contract.
Also the carrier can fly up to 90 51-76 seat aircraft if ALL positions above 55 aircraft are staffed with furloughed NWA pilots.
Also the TA provides a poison pill clause that if the carrier does not agree to provide positions as stipulated they do not get the 70 seaters, and if they reneg on the terms, aircraft will be stripped from the carrier...

so why can't those airplanes be flown at NWA instead of giving more airplanes away to another company. that way all pilot positions will be filled by nwa pilots.

Hey guys, I think that you're not seeing this TA as most do. There is no language that NWA has to establish a minimum number of aircraft until one year of exiting bankruptcy. This will enable them to slowly replace the DC9's with 76 seat cabin class aircraft. This WILL result in approximately 700-1,000 furloughs! But they will get the opportunity to fly at either $62 or $37 as Capt or FO. Read the details of the TA closely. The TA needs to be turned down and tweeked a bit to allow language to protect our NWA pilot group. We were willing to strike to save our jobs, the TA in it's current form will create more furloughs.

One year AFTER exit? That's an open invitation for mischief. Good grief.
I'd certainly want to know why the negotiators allowed it.

I think your MEC did as good as they could do under the conditions of the industry. Hey you still have a pension. Hope we can keep that at Delta, and for those at JetBlue, PENSION is a check you get monthly after you stop working. It helps you enjoy life a little better.
I was also told there is an early out program that will help reduce the number of furloughs, plus are you guys still getting that nice order of B-787!
