Of Course you do understand that there would be no jumpseat at all today without ALPA and all the work they put in after 11 Sept to get the jumpseat restored. It took a lot of people working very hard and a lot of money to get it back and get Cass up and running. Everytime you ride a jumpseat now you should say thank you ALPA.

SWA is a union pilot group. The motion did not require a airline to be ALPA only union. I don't support this type of thing at all however all jumpseaters should recognize without ALPA there would be no jumpseat today.

As a JB pilot you are really only going to hurt fellow pilots if this happens. I was flying FLL to Dulles last week and we had 31 United jumpseaters. We are always going to help our counterparts get to work if we have the room.

The must have been peeved when I-Air dropped that route and got rid of their "crew van".
Remember that whole JS thing about 3 years ago when certain UAL guys were denying JB pilots rides out of JFK? That would have been pretty funny to see their guys trying to get to work if JB reciprocated the treatment some of them were receiving.

When I-Air flew IAD to JFK, it was common to have a lot of JB crew members on board. BOTH pilots and FA's as we were like you, gave the bennie to both.

Well, UAL pilots aren't trying to BUMP YOU OUT OF YOUR OWN JUMPSEAT.

This resoulution would be a very bad thing if it passes.
I have worked for both union ands non union companies. The non union ones were much more stable jobs.
Many non union 121 pilots were once ALPA members but got screwed out of their jobs by the mighty, self serving, bloated ALPA leadership.
I now work for a union carrier and am once again sliding backwards on the seniority list. I will not deny anyone a jumpseat but do expect them respectfully ASK permission to use it.

are you sure on this one. I was told that the first few pilots (management types) voted in teamsters right away so they wouldn't get ALPA. this was directly from one of my reps at a previous job. the number of pilots that come to mind was about 8. don't hold be to that though, it's just what comes to mind.
