Unions are long overrated and unnecessary Kinda like lawyers, way to many and they all know it better, but they are the only ones getting better from it.
Pretty much the key reason I always refused any airline job. And it turned out great

You are totally clueless. It would be funny except that I was actually embarrassed for you after reading your post.

What if someone had an ALPA card from a now defunct airline?

You got one too, Swedish ? From Council 2 ?

Even though we were at the airline that had the 2nd council in ALPA's history, we sure got tabsco up our nostrils and other orifices.

Oh well, back to the thread...very spicy indeed.

Oh really? By true definition of the term scab, how many do you think are at Allegiant, VA, and JB?

Also, how many guys at such places do you think were furloughed from (insert unionized legacy here) and have decided to stick it out?

Thats my point. A large portion of the guys at those carriers were either furloughed or came from a unionized carrier, but elected to go to said places because it was better than where they were at.

Denying them the JS based SOLELY on the fact that they are non union is shortsighted.

Captain's authority is a great thing! The captain is the only one who can decide if a jump seater rides. All you have to do is say "No". Plain and simple with no excuses.

Honestly that is going to hurt a Alaska pilot more then help the situation, IMHO. I am hoping that none of the Alaskan Pilots ever need a ride on any of those carriers.

PS: Isn't Allegiant a charter operation?

The captain is the only one who SHOULD decide if a jump seater rides.

I'm sorry to see JJ Reed acting up again. Who needs Ayer and the boys to finally crush this pilot group.

Vagabond,

Please send me a private email contact at [email protected] I've got something I'd like to discuss privately off-board.

Thanks!
