CAL Furlough Mitigation LOA
#11
My comment wasn't directd at you or United. But the guy I quoted was ****ed about the Mitigation LOA and I simply said would he rather have a firm furlough notice instead.
As I understood it United has announced 900+ furloughs going back to 1999 hire dates. Is that not true?

However, some of us are being somewhat optimistic, and hopefully the Association will work something out to "mitigate the furloughs". They pushed for the company to put out a number for awhile, and as usual the company had a knee jerk reaction, and put those out there. If they are to REALLY park all 100 AC, there will be more than that.
Keeping fingers crossed that it won't be too many. For UAL or CAL, or anyone else.

Did you vote yes for C02? Where you not here for C02? If you voted No then you are pointing the finger at the wrong people. If you voted yes, then you have no one to blame but yourself. And lastly if you werenlt here then why did you accept the job? The contract that allows all this BS was in force.
Now before you spout back let me say this. I voted NO. I voted Hell NO!
Secondly, the only reason the company did not announce furloughs was because they announced them to the union and the union went into mitigation mode.
I guess you'd rather be at United with a furlough letter as ooppsed to a mitigation LOA that might save many from going out for a time. I complain about the union all the time but at least I'm smart enough to know when something has been done to at least hold judgement until the senior guys act on it one way or the other. Right now you don;t know what it will do no more than I do but at least CAL ALPA has kept others and possibly you from seeing an official OH **** letter yet.

OK ERIC:
Enough is Enough.
You've bashed the DAL/NWA thing like your daddy is a NWA legacy.
Now you jump on the bandwagon to trash CAL.
MAN up!!!
Tell us where you stand (i.e. where do you work) or just go away.
In short. Who the f?ck are you!!?? Or are you too scared to say??
My name is #489096 (jason mcmillin) on the DAL list.
Can you man up and do the same or will you continue to hide behind your weak responses and pot shots from who knows where.
Grow a pair. KID

Tentative Agreement Reached for Furlough Mitigation
On Thursday June 26th, ALPA and the Company reached a Tentative Agreement regarding Furlough Mitigation. Over the next few days, the MEC will be reviewing the final language for the TA. This TA only covers Special Personal Leaves, Voluntary Furloughs, Staffing Formula modifications, Surplus Reduction Lines and a Furlough Recall Bypass program.
In subsequent meetings, the Negotiating Committee will be discussing with the Company other means to further mitigate furloughs to include a Voluntary Early Retirement Program, as well as possible job opportunities for furloughed pilots
This is talking about United...more details and the real numbers later.

my point is he seemed to think that you were there for C02 but you're a new hire.
why would it be creepy knowing that. there's what maybe a handful of people who post here on a regular basis. it's not rocket science to know who they work for.

jay5150 how did I trash CAL by saying the guy is a new hire?
I'm not going to tell you who I work for because I don't believe that has much to do with how I see things. I will tell you this though, I have no family members that work in the industry.

Thanks for putting it up though. I hope the pilots at other airlines use this as a template and significantly improve on it. I am ashamed that it is the best our MEC could come up with as it illustrated the level of selfishness running rampant amongst our ranks and only fuels the theories of management lining our ALPA leaders pockets. The fact is: this LOA does make a significant financial change to guys on property and should've been put up to a vote - per the contract and bylaws. I'm certain my peers will agree with me that it does nothing to prevent junior manning or the open-time pickup that runs rampant amongst the senior pilots and scabs. I won't forget this one...
