so you're saying its acceptable that a MGMT team gives each other MILLIONS of dollars in bonuses while the company they are supposed to be LEADING is BLEEDING cash and is on the verge of going out of business?

LOSING has only one O. You lend credence to your argument if it is intelligently written. Sorry... it IS important.

To all you UAL guys, my thoughts are with you. I hope you make it through with out pain. It's scary for some one like me just finishing my commercial, looking at an industry with a the problems ahead of my self, wondering if there will be any jobs around for us, as well as other pilots all ready in it. Best of luck.

A temporary victory at best (NWA), and ironically they (like my vintage at USAir was) will be decimated as much by ALPA brethren as they will be (or have been) by management. Point is "we" are screwed by either candidate, just in different ways. My main point is that Barry for all intents and purposes views us as overpaid elitist bus and truck drivers with no political clout. Or more importantly anything to offer HIM and his agenda which has no place for anyone paid more than $60K a year unless you're in the eco/socialist industrial complex which will make the old military/industrial complex first alluded to by Eisenhower look lame in comparison. He'll screw us THEN raise our taxes. The big elephant entering the room for the aviation industry is the carbon credit (aka: Amway for socialists) scam in Europe which will ultimately cripple American carriers more than anyone and then infect this country as it appeals to morons who buy Prius' and carbon credits at Whole Foods Market.

Foreign carriers wouldn't purchase a US airline in order to raise our pay and benefits to their levels. On the contrary, they would purchase us specifically because we are cheap labor and they would certainly keep it that way.

Sky High, you must be High. Look at the only carrier not sinking, southwest. They are the highest paid in the pax industry, yet they make a profit. How, well there are tons of reasons, here are a few. BTW none includes stop flying or cutting work force.
1. Attitude reflects leadership.
2. Paid for aircraft.
3. Reasonable mgmt wages.
4. Cash is King.

That's why the US of A is in the mess it's in now! Because everyone put their trust in gov't.

Oh well, that was my anarchy rant for the year.

Hey, finally A320fumes and I can agree on something!

It is indeed truly disturbing that CEOs can be rewarded so much for so little in performance.
