It would be nice if the moderators would sit back and let the visitors of the site drive its direction. Thats the point of a streaming forum. Instead it is micromanaged and pulled whichever direction they want. BS if you ask me.

I'll probably get reprimanded and yanked for my opinion but that would be status quo around these parts.

Capt. Krunch,

Are you employing reverse psychology here?

Just because something doesn't always have an explanation doesn't mean it is malicious in intent..... the mods have their hands full with a site this large..... and no don't consider this ass kissing I got to play moderator at a forum a long long time ago in a galaxy far away.... until you walk a mile in someone's shoes....

I make the offer all the time to visit by phone to talk about improving the forum. If you don't want to visit by phone, PM is available too.

I don't recall visiting with you, but if you have feedback you'd like to share I'm all ears.

I have heard loud and clear that when a thread is closed users want to know why. I agree! I've reminded the moderators to give a reason when we lock a thread. I think over the past few days, we've had threads closed that should have been merged or moved to the appropriate forum. Call it sloppy housekeeping on our part, but there is no interest in controlling the dialog.

Also, if you guys have a specific example you want me to look at, please post or PM the URL.

Thanks!

Thanks!

The few times I've had a disagreement with the closing of a thread and I spoke with the respective Moderator I have gotton the feedback that I expected and my opinion was considered/respected. Thank you guys for all the hard work. I know it isnt easy.

I have seen numerous times where people have said "I will probaly get reprimanded/infraction for this and banned, but I am saying it anyway..." afterwhich the moderators or founders state their case and to my knowledge do not reprimand/infraction or ban the poster.

I would love for the mods or founders, just once, to actually give the poster a boatload of infractions, ban him from all aviation forums, ruin his credit, and just competely unload on them in whatever way they can. That is what Chuck Norris would do. Of course, I will probably get an infraction for this and banned....

What, and let this site turn into FlightInfo.com II? No thanks! This board and the mods are doing just fine.

I guess I'm confused why there are moderators at all. I'm not trying to flame here, it just seems like a streaming web forum should go where the people want it to go. Why does there need to be intervention? I understand that there are people who curse or flame but that is part of the charm of these sites. It gets people riled up and gets the conversation going. Eventually, the stream will move onto other subjects and new people will post. Ultimately if a poster is a pain the mob mentality will take over and they will get lambasted by the group. If someone is really bothered they can alway ignore a poster. Either way, I don't see the need for moderators/intervention. But that is my humble opinion.
