Default UAL news leaks already starting...

Big downsizing anouncement tommorrow, planebuzz already has the early rumors. Cash is dwindling quicker than anticipated, triggers are being reached. The wonderfull managers that we all love so much will be protecting their bonus program by preserving cash. This is just the start of a preset plan, hang on folks our ride is just starting to get interesting.

I read 70 airplanes parked on another forum (unconfirmed). Sounded like TED was going to be targeted.

Thanks Tilton for your terrible management skills - enjoy your big bonus.

I am sure that DAL, NWA and CAL will follow suit with another 8%. I guess we will know when we know.

You sound like you know what you are talking about but this sentence proves you don't. The East contends that ALPA merger policy was not followed. They contend the West guys got a WINDFALL. It doesn't matter what you believe. A large majority believed it was not fair. It was enough to make them defect from ALPA. Now the West guys are stewing and making matters worse.

USAPA will negotiate a integrated contact with date of hire and fences. MEMBERS will vote on it. I expect it will pass as the West stupidly refuses to join the legal bargaining agent. The West has some soul searching to do. Their current strategy will get them nowhere.

The only dog I have in this fight is the hope that this mess will result in new rules to prevent this kind of thing from happening again. I vote for a national seniority list. But that's just me.

Hey Merger:

Your headline is from 2002. While UAL's stock dropped from $13 to $8 in the last two weeks, it didn't drop last Thursday--it rose.
