You have a job,,,,,,,,,,, for now. I am curious, at what salary level will you personally say.......I can't do this anymore? I mean how low will you go? Everyone has their price.

What will you do when the current administration allows License Harmonization? (A pilot from any country came come to the US an fly/)

That 80K a year job you refer too will be history!

Let us all hope that Home Depot is hiring then!

Hum.......$300K a year flying for an overseas carrier........Please tell me oh Obi Wan. The things I've seen is'nt even half that much. Anywhere from 8500 - 9500 month for Capt, 5500 - 6800 month for FO. IASCO, Global Flyers, Hawaii Aviation, etc.

VirginAtlantic pays less than BA, more than BMI. They fly only 747s and A340s, while BMI's biggest jet is A330.

Ok perhaphs 300k is abit much i was trying to make a point.

Why are all the "majors" in Bankruptcy protection? i personally would prefer to make 80-100k a yr every yr than to be laid off every 5 yrs end up at the bottom clawing my way up again just to be laid off again. it's great if you are already in the top 25% of pilots whom make the big wages and will probably not get laid off unless the company fold but what about the rest of us.

it is the market and the economy that dictates our wages not the pilots themselves.

10 yrs ago you wanted an electrician a plumber a carpenter you could find hundreds and pay them very litte, they were starving, now you can hardly get one to show up for a quote, they are makeing more money then they ever have! Suply and demand it's no different for our industry!

as i said you want to make the big bucks go over seas

Tax free us dollars, accomodations paid for interest free car loan, profit sharing( which i know has been up to 50000$ for one yr), medical, provident fund overtime, you ad it all up and i bet you it's pretty damn close.

I personally don't belive the induatry in North America can support the wages that some of us have come to expect.

you want the big buck go overseas

Oh Obi Zorba, if I'm not mistaken, your first $75k is free from US taxes only. But, that still equates to around $175k - $190K, if you want to live in camelland. Been to that area too many times to consider it.

dcpilot,

In another thread, you state you work for Pinnacle Airlines, so I assume you are rather new to this business.

When you find yourself unemployed (and in this business, you will) with bills to pay, a family to feed, and unemployment benefits coming to an end...I expect you to stick to your gun's and refuse to even consider working for a bottom feeder that only pays eighty large per year.

When that happens, your crude post might carry some weight. Until then, keep playing with your X-Box and leave the adults alone.

well said R1830toIAE2500

DCPilot did you think of that intellingent reply all by yourself or did your 2 yr old help you.

crewdawg52 why not read my entire post instead of just quoting to support your argument. don't forget the incl housing, the profit sharing(which i know has been as much as 50k us tax free) child education ret plan etc... i bet you it 's alot more that "190"

Like i said you want that kind of money go over there and make the sacrifice, but don't tell me to refuse a job for 80k /yr while you are in your flighdeck making whatever it is you make.

I do not belive the industry in North America can support the legacy carrier wages anymore.

i personally knew of a 767 CPT who would do 2 pairing a month to hong kong thats it and earn with all his perdiem etc 300k a yr in North America. is it any wonder nobody want to give this up! is it any wonder all the majors are in Bankrupcty protection. Not only do pilots want the big salary but they aren't even willing to work for it!
