UAL going out of business?

At this rate, we'll all be working for Saudi Air or Air Emirates. Let's all hope (pray) that never comes to pass. For those of you who believe the war in Iraq is all about Halliburton, the Bushes, and oil...there you go. For those of you who believe we shouldn't be drilling in Anwar...there you go.
I know the Dems are supposed to be "industry friendly" but they ain't helping us out at the moment.

UAL can survive with a little paring back of the unprofitable rtes and they will be around a lot longer than some in here tend to think ,some years back they did exactly this so I would expect them to do it again also .
If she can hang for 2 years than she schould be ok for the long haul ,just remember this is cyclical always has been and always will be .
BTW some of those UAL crews have a lot of high time so who do you think gets the openings first at other carriers if she did fold ?
You can teach monkeys to fly !

AMR also has a higher cost structure as I recall. But I agree, United is more "vulnerable", but I see other airlines failing before either of these two legacies.

Foreign carriers flying domestically is probably not going to happen. Why? Because the POTUS can't order the Froggies and Krauts back to work if they want to strike (which the Froggies are fond of). The US can't turn over its domestic system to the whims of foreign Railway Labor Act-free pilots.

The airline and cruise line industries have nothing in common with respect to skill level required for the bulk of their labor. Where did you come up with that comparison?
