Wouldnt hold your breath on a base anytime soon, but DEN is a good bet when it happens

I'm sure they have "plans" to make Denver a base but that's a long way from making it a base.

Going to take a lot more expansion in DEN before its a domecile. As I understand it, they were overnighting 25-30 airplanes in LAS before it was turned into a domecile (and that just happened recently).

By my count, they only have 7 in DEN (as of about a month ago) at night.

FWIW, according to the Chief Pilot in LAS today, we will have 115 departures per day in DEN by Jan 09 - this from the latest meeting in Mecca.

The magic number for a crew base is 12 - 14 overniting aircraft. Tampa easily has this number but is not a crew base. Other factors are in play.

Any more talks about having mini-bases. I remember during one of the job fairs, they had mentioned that they were looking into it.

When I interviewed a year ago, they told me that they were planning on going to EFB's. They also mentioned that EFB's would make it affordable to open more, smaller domiciles.
