Not looking for sympathy, because again, these are the paths we choose, but like I said, someone always has it worse and despite being away from home alot, it is possible to still have a great family life, as long as the rest of your family understands and can accept what you do for a living.

Most of us have already done the 13 month unaccompanied tours overseas...........or the 6 month cruise that gets extended to 9.............
and then after you return stateside for the one year at home you get early alerted and are sent off on another cruise after being home only 6 months..................
Yeah most of us have been there and done that..........................which is why many of us opted to get out.
Yeap you could have it worse...............you could have your widow and children crying over your flag draped coffin as it comes off the C-141 in Dover..............like so many have.
