The Media Reads APC
Hahaha. This made my morning.
I started up my internet browser this morning and on my homepage (msn.com), I noticed an article titled "MD-80 - Why is this plane still flying?"
Interested, I read the article to see what the media thought about it. Then I came to the best parts...
Anyone else find this funny/interesting/good/bad/...?
Is the Boyd group getting too expensive??
Maybe we are the best source of information for aviation news. Now if they would only listen to some of the other stuff we have to say.
Here is the article for those interested

"Definitely a PR blitz for the FAA; notice how there haven't been any (mechanical) problems (or) groundings at any smaller carriers?" wrote a writer called "Flyby1206" who posted his comments this week at a Web site for airline pilots. A writer called "Oldfreightdawg" said his company had passed the wire-bundle inspections "except that the FAA inspector didn't like the orientation of the ties used to secure the wire bundle. They didn't match the pretty picture in his book. This is the equivalent of a cop pulling you over and busting a tail light with his night stick and citing you for it." The post added: "The FAA is doing some serious CYA in Texas, they're running for their bureaucratic lives and it doesn't matter who is run over."

I see Mike Boyd all the time on Denver tv... he's an idiot!!!!
I can't believe that just because he was available after 9/11 to talk to the media, he's become an expert. His opinions are basic and shallow! Most of the people on this board are better qualified than him to comment on aviation!

If they are getting info from here, with some good planning, we could use that to our advantage. We could begin a concerted propaganda and disinformation campaign. It could be especially successful if we coordinated with other pilot web sites.
What messages might we spread?
Rest regulations which lead to pilots so fatigued safety is at risk
How the FAA's own policies caused all the recent -80 and 73 groundings
The upcoming nationwide wildcat strike
