Default ATA/Champion/Aloha/Sun Country/Furloughed?-USA Jet is Hiring

Hi.

Sorry to hear about all of you pilots in a tough spot.

I was out of the industry for 10 years because I couldn't find a flying job, and when I got back in I got furloughed right away. I'm now at USA Jet. It's not great, but it ranges from tolerable to very good, depending on your situation. I like it, overall.

We are hiring, and we especially need DC-9 guys. Starting pay is $39K/year. If you have the hours, Falcon capt upgrade is about 6 months, and DC-9 capt should come down to about 2 years.

We have two bids out now for DC-9 capt, with only 6 elligible pilots.

We also have a gov't contract in ABQ, and the starting pay is higher there. The lowest pay/seniority position there is Twin Otter Capt/DC-9 FO. They have 3 DC-9s (supposed to be getting -737s soon), a GIII, a Lear, and 2 Twin Otters. Everyone there is a Capt in something.

If U want a lot of info on USA Jet, PM me with your EMAIL. It is wayyyy to long to send via PM.

ouch. cancelled? not postponed? Sorry bro. Kalitta is also hiring into the 747-200 and -400, at least through the summer, i imagine a huge stack of resumes are piling up there as we speak. My buddy at southern air is saying they're hurting for guys there as well.

Hey Cliff,

Wasn't it you that always talked about the 08' hiring boom? Did it happen already? I'm glad to see you all are still hiring. I know age 65 changed the prospects but man this one sure had some short legs...Are things in the automotive sector picking up or did you have a lot exit to airlines before they closed the hiring pipe line.

Hi!

Auto freight was at it's lowest ever in 2006, I believe. It is picking up, and we downsized, so all our freight -9s and pilots are flying a lot. We've added PAX business, which has been going well.

Of the last 9 guys that have left, 5 have gone to NJA.

Historically, -9 upgrade has been 5-7 years, but we think it will go down to 2, and, theoretically, we may have to hire off the street.

I am hoping to go to San Juan this spring/summer and fly 14 on/14 off. My CEO and kids would come down to SJ while I'm there for at least part of the time.

Hi!

I think they prefer 1000TT/500MEL or military with any experience level. We have hired one guy with less than 300 hours.

Falcon Capt upgrade is 3000 TT and ??? MEjet.

-9 Capt is 4000TT/500 PICMEJet/100 hours in type.
