UAL C57 update 4-01-08

Maybe it's time we did "take it out" on the whole pilot group, who go to mesa knowing it's the bottom-feeder of the industry, and is a cancer on all other regionals fighting to maintain standards.
A perfectly legitimate carrier has been driven out of business, it's time to take off the gloves and talk plainly.
I hear mesa is in danger of collapsing soon anyway, high attrition and can't find pilots.

Let's talk plain. Who do you work for? We take a lot of jumpseaters for every regional and major, and were more than happy to have them. The moment we aren't shown that same hospitality, we will reciprocate.
I would suggest you think before speaking for your entire pilot group. There are thousands of commuters at each airline, and they might be a little upset if your responsible for screwing up their ride home each week.

I am not speaking for my enitre pilot group. I DO NOT deny the jumpseat to mesa pilots. Do I think we should... Yes. Its not a personal issue its an ethical issue. I refuse to fly on any MESA carrier anywhere. Ever. So being barred from mesa Jumpseats wouldn't effect me but might others.
Some might call me an a$$ but I didnt CHOOSE to work for them.

Let's think rationally here. True, we had a hand in Aloha going under, but our 4 airplanes didn't single handedly put them out of business. They were hurting even before we got there.

I have no need to ride with you guys. Thats why I said that. "OHHHHH I wont ride on you guys for free and that way you dont get any of my money!!!!" I think that is what you heard. And honestly it makes no sense. My decision came when I was standing in line with a Mesa Instructor trying to catch a ride home and asked him why he wasnt catching the mesa flight home which was an hour earlier. His response was "unless Im at the controls I will never fly my own airline."
Ive been told I have anger issues. That might be true.

Try not to clog up this thread with your personal vendetta against those of us at Mesa. I was attempting to have a cordial conversation with UA pilots in regards to Mesa jumpseaters.
You definately have anger issues.

Ohhh, gotcha, because if you were 21 years old, and offered a position flying for a 121 carrier with a year upgrade, you would use your "ethical" judgment and "CHOOSE" not to work for them. What did you use as a stepping stone to get where you are today? Instructed for $10/ hour? Flew night cargo terrible planes for $25k/ year?
I chose not to fly for Mesa, but I dont belittle those who did "CHOOSE" to. Its sad to say, but at the end of the day, we all look for shortcuts to our goals.

No at 22 after 2 years of instructing at more than 10$ per hour, I went to a regional with a 7 year upgrade. Short cut? Not likley. AND YES IT WAS BASED ON THE BUISNESS ETHICS.
