Just another Mesa ID. In Honolulu, they are the only flight crew members in the interisland terminal without this symbol on their flight bags...

So a Mesa ID in the Hawaii environment would be your only indication of a crew type for Gojet?

Starting April 1st (hmm!), they will increase their departures from 54 to 94 per day!

Good, they can lose more money, and shut down themselves!

Now would be a good time to talk to your Chief Pilot at your airline to give these pilots continued use of your jumpseat for a few months while they interview. And perhaps give these guys an interview, whatever is the custom at your airline for pilots at gone-out-of-business airlines.

News reports out here are saying it's permanent though they hold out the hope that it could be started up again. Aloha's CEO David Bamiller said that he had been in touch with every domestic airline ceo and most foreign about a buyout or cash infusion over the past couple of months and the question was always the same, "What are you going to do about gas prices and Mesa?" All paraphrased by me from the morning TV news.

The freight operations will continue as will their support services division (they are the aircraft loaders for FedEx in Hilo for example) as they are turning a profit until a buyer can be found for them (under the auspices of the Bankruptcy court here). Not sure what that means for the pilots as I have no idea what their contract is or calls for.

The local CBS TV station's front page is full of stories if you're interested:

You better tell me because I don't know what you're getting at. As far as I know the Golden Rule is the one thing all those groups have in common.
