Aloha Airlines to shut down pax ops tomorrow
#53
Sad to see all this happen. Flew interisland back in Feb and told my wife I would only fly Hawaiian or Aloha. If she even thought of buying a ticket on GO! I told her she would be taking the trip herself.
It sucks to see how competition works out there. GO only survived this long because of Mesa's size and market share on the mainland. It is a crappy way to run an airline.
I wish all the employees of Aloha the best. The service they offered will be greatly missed!

Mike,
I have a good friend who just went down the tubes with Aloha and this is the second shut down he and his family have had to endure. My sympathy to all the Aloha employees and their families! For the life of me I don't get your point here (pure and simple flame-baiting?) except you are arguing for reregulation I suppose. I would argue that the villain is not a "true" free market but Ornstein and his cronies.
Perhaps you have some socialist suggestions to fix the airline industry? Government intervention to expedite mergers? A bailout by the government? Oh! that already happened and has only kept weak players alive and drained the life out of those that were viable. Thus delaying the inevitable consequences some may now be facing. I thank the Lord every day for my job (but only the one represented by the Cross in your avatar) because I know nothing in life is quaranteed, including life time employment. Who might you thank for your job, the government? Now that is pathetic!
Please enlighten us all with your worldly advice.
Your friend,
Oscar

I'll jump in here before somebody else does. GoJet is ran by TSA. Go!, the inter-island Hawaiian airline, is operated by Mesa. GoJet pilots and management are scum whereas only the management of Go! is.
