Airline predictions 10 years from now!
Here are my predictions on who will be around in 10 years.
1.UAL
2.SWA/AA
3.NWA/CAL merge
4.DAL/USAIR merge
5.VA-AT-Jetblue merge
The rest just fall by the wayside .
Will not get into regionals due to the fact they catch enough hell in here as it is,just to be fair to them.
Any other predictions go ahead and have at it .

DAL/VA? There isn't a thing in common between them. More likely the Airbus operating LCCs will combine, like Frontier/VA.
And UAL/AA, there is no way the Govt will allow the two biggest airlines to combine without giving up so much that a merger isn't worth it.
NWA/CAL, I think that one is doable.

Still going to be some sort of mergers in order to make carriers more profitable

Think back how the industry was 10 years ago. Then think of all the series of events that have happened in the last 10 years to bring us where we are today. No one would have predicted 10 years ago the the things that have occured to bring us where we are today.

NWA/DAL merges
UAL/CAL merges
AA/USAir merges
JetBlue gets bought by Lufthansa
Frontier goes out of business or gets bought by SWA
AirTran gets bought by VA
Comair gets sold by DAL
Compass gets sold by NWA
