Hey Konadog, Please PM me with your real name and your interview date so I can fill out a pilot referral form on you. I'd love to help you out.

Hey konadog - what I want to know is if it's safe to fly with you?

Still worried about my MCI - LAX flight tomorrow. Hope it goes.
Question: Would it be unethical to encourage people not to fly for SWA? If we could start a movement of people refusing to pilot for them, we could get good jobs!

southwest has always had a reputation for taking shortcuts and cutting corners. it looks like they now got caught by the FAA. my question is should i take an interview with them? are their airplanes safe to fly? i know everyone who posts likes working for them but that is not my question so please don't flame the topic. just-are they safe enuf and do they hide their inadequate maintenance?
Seeing as we're not interviewing at this time do you even have a choice?

Ha. What an awesome response to this post. Please do inform the crew. How are your skills when the wing off light comes on? I just love it when the media gets a hold of something that was closed over a year ago. Now people act like the plane is literally going to fall apart in midair. In fact I think the airline cuts so many corners that they didnt even use steel. I'm pretty sure the 737 is made of balsa wood. In fact konadog don't apply we can't waste the money looking at your application.

Lets not forget SWA blew the whistle on themselves initally and reported that they didn't complete the inspections in due time and their FAA POI gave them the extention. Inadequate maint? They actually had an entire maint team devoted skin cracks and inspections prior to the bad PR. I guess having a proactive maint dept and good realtions with the FAA is cutting corners and taking shortcuts.
