I have been through my logbooks about twenty times and still cannot find where my mistakes are. After airlineapps adds up my flight times, it comes out to 40 hours less than I have in my logbook......my logbook shows more. I cant find the "mistake" either on airline apps or in my logbook. I know when I first started flying I logged some things incorrectly. Is this something that they will look at seriously and take it as meaning i'm sloppy?
What do you guys think?

Lalo37 -

I actually had the exact same problem - 40 hours off. It turned out that I had incorrectly transferred a number that I carried over from a previous page. i.e. When I totaled my PIC time it came out to 2010 hours, and when I wrote it on the next page, I wrote it as 2050 by accident. Thus, giving myself an additional 40 hours. It wasn't a math error - just a copying error. It took me over 2 years to find that mistake! Maybe that's where yours is? (FWIW - I now write all of my totals in pencil, because that one mistake made such an incredible mess of my logbook.)

As for how Delta is going to feel about it, I can't really say. I know one of the interviewers spent all 45 minutes of my panel interview going through my logbooks. No clue what they were looking for, but they were thorough. I have a hard time believing that if you're a strong candidate they would disqualify you for that... But personally, I'd keep working on finding the error. Good luck.

They did comb through my logbook very thoroughly during my interview. In fact, they were more interested in my very first logbook more than anything else. I think the tabs i put in the logbook to indicate my various checkrides helped.

To answer your question now. Your total flight time should match exactly, but the PIC time on airlineapp may be a bit lower, because you can log PIC after you obtain your PVT, ME, etc. while receiving dual received, but airlineapp doesn't consider dual received as PIC. It happens to most civilian training as we were receiving commercial flight training after we obtained our PVT license. I was off by about 100 hours or so. Therefore, i had a letter to explain the difference, but they never ask for it though.

Thanks for the replies guys! I am going to keep looking but I just cannot find where the heck my mistake is. I thought it was the fact that I logged PIC while receiving dual as well but it's not. I will keep looking

I have an interview 25 Feb. What are you guys studying for the systems knowledge? I have been studying all the previous recommended materials but not finding much in the way of systems. Thanks...

I have heard general knowledge. I dont think there is anything "specific" you can study other than having an understanding as to how a hydraulic system or electrical system operates

The Turbine Pilots Flight Manual is a good general systems book. I probably had two or three questions that I could point right to that book.
