JetBlue Hiring Minimums

I completely agree. It's NEVER a bad idea to get 'face' time with the people you want to work for.
I'm at AirTran and see ASA folks over in the AT Chief Pilot's office all the time. You can bet when the Tranny does start hiring again, they will be among the 1st called to interview.

You can't chooe anymore. You will be hired as a JB pilot and given a class date. Once in class you wil find out what plane you are going to be going to.2 year equipment lock.No plans of hiring for 2010 as of yet.

I think it is accurate that they will offer the bus to existing 190 FO's first. Its probably safest to just expect to be on the E190 if we hire. Although, things could get mixed up if hiring is tied to an additional aircraft order. Not saying this is happening--one company rumor proposes an additional number of options are taken. New payrates have placed a conundrum on many pilots with the ability to choose a seat or aircraft. Senior 190 life seems to be now clearly better than junior bus life. Thats a matter of opinion and priorities, but 190 captain went to quite senior bus captains during the last bid.

Either way, upgrades look pretty bleak...

I would plan on a 10 year upgrade at this point. It will be a long time based on what I perceive to be the average age (quite young) of the pilots here at JB. Could be ten years. Maybe 8 or maybe 12.
Good luck.
