DAL MEC talks about Mergers

Not from what i saw. Compass deal is totally different. They can flowback up to 90% of the compass list off the streets to make room for NWA pilots. Mesaba however has a ratio of flowup/down. Dont know what that is though. I guess we would have to get into class first

even better for nwa pilots i guess. compass is planning on hiring 350 this year arent they so a CA slot at compass isnt a bad option if available if the shat does hit the fan. PM sent by the way.

You're right..........times are changing. The problem is that as soon as a merger is done with, our government lets a few more airlines either start up, or fly into our country to supposedly "increase" competition. It's like they can't screw this industry enough. I have a feeling "open skies" is going to "open a can of worms" and hurt our industry even more than it's already hurting.

1. The "synergies" between NWA and DL could be done through their current codeshare at arm's length.
2. Great - outsource more flying. Is that why Delta is trying to reduce Connection flying by 15% this year, even to the point of parking their own jets at their Comair operation?
3. Yeah, the World's busiest airport in Atlanta has nothing on MSP.
4. No, Delta has not hired a President. Ed Bastian was the CFO.
I agree the fleet makes no sense and the merger makes no sense. In about 60 days I hope the Board realizes this cash out plan has no legs.

I agree with you. There is less fleet commonality between NWA and DAL. Also, DAL is trying to reduce RJ flying, and if they bought/merged with NWA, they would be aquiring more RJ's(this as they're exploring selling COMAIR). They also have to deal with Midwest, right? It seems like there is a heck of a lot more baggage with NWA then with UAL. I also think UAL would go for cheaper then what NWA would ask for. So much to speculate. Guess I better get on the saddle and tighten the reigns!
