The East Coast guys need to realize that outside of their mutual admiration club, there's almost no one who has any sympathy for them.

We're all professional pilots, we all know the issues, we all know the history, we all know where US Air was headed on it's own.

They're not fooling anyone but themselves.

You sure you work for USAirways (AWA that is) and not AA? I have no beef in this fight but I just realized you sound like an AA guy/gal telling ex-TWA pilots how lucky they should consider themselves for even having "recall rights." I guess everything is relative...
Btw, I personally DO have sympathy for the 18 year FOs on the east side…

I have sympathy for them. Typical fighter jock mentality. It can't happen to me, so screw them.

Who is we? Wish you would remove that F-16 from your avatar too. Giving mil guys a bad name with your silver-spoon mentality on this and other post.

You know history, eh? Then you'll know of the many, many mergers and acquisitions USAir's predecessors completed with fair & equitable seniority integrations, the majority of which were DATE-OF-HIRE.

You don't seem to know their history, my friend.

And another thing Mr. Buffet. You don't have a clue about where US Airways, Delta, Fedex, UPS, NWA Jetblue, etc, etc are headed. As a matter of fact, you don't know where the F-16 community is headed after they retire them. I glean from your post that you're not even an airline pilot yet. Reminds me of a few guys in my guard unit who didn't make it through probation at their prospective carriers because they knew too much. You've got a lot to learn when, if, you ever become a major airline pilot. So glad active duty is behind me. Thanx.

Way to go guys. Your rant factor is off the charts. Feel free to make a ton of assumptions about who I am and what I know; I really don't care to justify my position to you.

The fact is this, among the large number of airline pilots from different companies that I work with on a daily basis, there is utter disbelief at the actions being taken by the East.

I suggest that some of you guys step away from the computer and sound out the opinions of people who don't already realize that you'll go to full flame mode if they don't agree with you.

Just ask an original Piedmont or PSA pilot how fairly they felt treated ? DOH or not ...

Fair and equitable doesn't exist anyway ... its just written in lawbooks and legal papers. An ideal that cannot be achieved ... IMHO.

The history of USAir ? In six words:

Merge/acquire slight growth, THEN ... downsize,
Merge/acquire slight growth, THEN ... downsize,

Rinse, repaint the airline and repeat !

I think there's another merger on the horizon for that group, if they ever find a suitable dance partner. And overcome their differences of the present situation.

Later, Brown CC
