Default prep

This has been talked about often on this forum so do a search. But I recommend Air Inc.

Call Aaron Hagan, 1-850-774-6704

Best money I've spent in a long time. He'll work with you in person, on the phone, and pays you back if you don't get hired. Can combine with excellent simulator prep if you are interviewing somewhere that a sim is required. Civilian, mil, or combined background, he helps everyone and adjusts his schedule for you. The seminar I attended had 2 mil, 3 regional pilots, and a Ryan Air pilot. He will get you ready for whatever airline you are interviewing for. Results count:
Me, 3 for 3 this year.
FedEx Poolie
SWA Poolie
Delta Cleared to train letter arrived today

Aaron Hagan was directly responsible for my success. You are interviewing for a lifetime job in the bigs for pilots, do whatever you can to make it. Call Aaron!

Default Interview Prep

For what it is worth my wife did mine. Just got the 'cleared to train' email today.

Another interesting stat... in my reserve wing of 5 that have interviewed at DAL, 4 have been hired. The only one that did NOT get hired is the only one of us that got professional interview prep. He was told specifically that he failed the interview.

Be prepared but I can tell you from my interview they don't mind if your not perfectly polished as long as you come off as yourself. If interview prep will make you more yourself and more relaxed, do it, but don't expect it to be a golden ticket.

Good luck to all, hope to see you soon at Delta!!!!

The WFFF gouge is still pretty good but don't rely on the gouge questions. You must know the underlying math behind the gouge. I just took the test Wed and although i passed and was offered the job, it was a near run thing. The cog test was easy and fun for me but for others it was stressful. As far as the interview just be yourself, be open and humble, and have some situations in your mind that can be recalled quickly. Not necessarily rehearsed, but just familiar.

As far as pro help, they will alert you to any annoying or distracting mannerisms, and help you with your ability to connect with the interviewers. I went to Judy Tarver prior to my SW interview and she gave me some good info but I didn't get that job. For my Delta interview I never talked to her and did get that job. Just anecdotal evidence.

If that is true then he owes me some money!
I will admit they are very professional and do a great job, but they tell you up front if you don't get hired they will continue to work with you for other airline opportunities without paying anymore money. It's not a money back garuntee. I got truned down at both FDX and UPS and I used Emerald Coast. I finally got a job offer at DAL after going to Air Inc. Emerald Coast was great and worth the money, but Air Inc. worked better for me.

Good info at WFFF and aviationinterviews.com

I used Emerald coast several years ago before my SW interview and I believe it helped contribute to me not getting the job. The reason, I was thinking of all the things that he pointed out in the interview prep and was NOT MYSELF. This is a real danger of going to prep. I am in no way shape or form saying that not getting the job was not my fault. What I am saying is that I believe that I was trying to conform to what someone else told me was a successful mold.

I think that if you are just yourself and use common sense you will do fine. I am 2 for 2 with interviews after SW and I just relaxed and was myself.

I recommend "Checklist for success" as an alternative to professional prep. It has all the info that I recieved from Emerald coast but in book form. It is tailored to the aviation interview and you are not walking in to the interview a stress ball.

Delta is a VERY laid back interview. The only fact that may unnerve some people is that you are in a closed room with 4-5 other people. All the questions are "tell me what you would do", and are pretty easy. They are just looking to make sure you would be safe, use CRM and SPEAK UP if you see something wrong.

This is just my opinion and what worked for me.

Brian

Good luck

They had been conducting interviews something like four days a week...unless something changed.
