. Looks like SWA is shopping for a new wading pool instead of the olympic monster they now have.

Not really, it is very easy to understand why folks who get their refs called, don't get hired

It is also quite easy for the good folks at SWA to check up on an applicant without calling his/her formal "references" that are listed on the app. Just depends on how much "due diligence" the folks want to do, and it keeps everybody wondering what the magic procedure is to grab the industry's current brass ring.
