Well, business ISN'T about likeing/hating the players. Especially in THIS BUSINESS. Shareholder value, growing the business, bottom lines, etc are what matter.

Atkins, Bedford, and even Orenstein are "good business men". It's just how they go about it.

AND IIRC, after 3.5 decades of flying and almost 3 getting a paycheck, the quote was more "as long as pilots are showing up for class, I'm paying too much". Likely a sentiment he inherited from Risley.

Agree, the amount of one up manship/"I know more than all on all topics" grows tiresome. Weird, I agree with you on something.

I remember reading many of your posts from years ago, I ALSO remember many of them being no so union friendly. Tainted by your brief experience at MESA before going to the greener pasture of SKW.

sure
Yep, quite the bag of scum he is. Also had no quams stating it in interviews.

But IIRC, Hulas did as well.

REALLY RICK? For disagreeeing with you, and being pretty tame about it? You're gonna threaten him? Maybe step back once in a while.

^^^^^ALSO THIS. Step back Rick, using your mod status is pretty poor form. Just, STOP.

Sorry if you don't like being told that. We're just calling balls and strikes here. You wanna strike/infract/ban us? Maybe toss it up the chain to admin instead of just being the sole arbitor on something.

Rick IS the Admin. Known/repeat pot stirrers and/or agitators get a much shorter leash.

Have you met a regional CEO?

Not Ornstein, but first day of Indoc at my first airline and the CEO comes in and, I $*** you not, tells us that "We should just be happy we're getting paid to do what we love."

sure have, and my bet is that the delivery was much more “it’s cool that you get to get paid to do what you love” than pithy and denigrating

Speaking of “food…”. They’re the ones who play power games with my crew meal… and who use any excuse to sit in their blocked seats I can’t non-rev on, and watch movies when they should be doing their jobs.

unskilled labor who let themselves get manipulated into despising the one employee group who has indirectly put tens of thousands of dollars into their pockets.

which is why flight attendants are poverty cases. 1m isn't enough to do that. Get real.

get real? The FAs where I work have made thousands and thousands of dollars yearly on my union’s (ie, my fellow pilots’) back. And in return, they despise us.

so if they don’t like the job, or it doesn’t pay enough for them and they are to stupid or lazy to find a better-paying job, I really don’t care. They aren’t subject to indentured servitude.

Nope, wrong. The delivery was we should just be glad someone would pay us to do this job and was definitely meant to put us in our place.
