Yes to both. Things are very expensive out there in case you haven’t noticed.

In the not to distant past, there was a famous Regional Airline Exec who said pretty much the same quote.................................except he substituted Pilots where you said FA's

But I can tell you......they certainly don't think they make a lot. That is not to say I agree or disagree with them.

if you are collecting a retirement and are making 200k + a year (assuming you’re on second year pay) you are not struggling, I’m sorry. This is like double the median family income in America.

Not picking on unions per se, rather the seniority model.

If you're in a seniority system, you can't really leave unless you want to start over at the bottom somewhere else, or change industries. So people tend to be locked in, and employers will take advantage of that when they can get away with it.

Even in a downturn, most white collar workrs can find a new and better job if their employer mistreats them. Might take some hustle is all.

"Find a better job"? There's plenty who don't find better jobs, especially if they're in their 50's.

That's for layoffs. I was talking about people who intentionally switch jobs. The people who get layed off are typically not the ones who aggressively advance their careers by seeking out better gigs or promotions every few years. Always easier to get a job if you have a job, no layoff stigma.

If you think you can settle into mid-level corporate America in your 40's and coast to age 67, I've got some bad news for you...

They may also drag you out of your seat when incapacitated and your plane is on fire. I always try to be nice and respectful to everyone I work with. Not hard to do.
