Well, then pilots will certainly be on the chopping block too, thanks to automation. We cost airlines a lot.

We might as well make as much possible and save while we can before robots take over.

Replacing airline pilots will be a much more difficult task. The cost associated with a malfunction and the level of technological sophistication required to have reliable self-flying airplanes is far greater.

They have that on a select few GA aircraft which operate on a much lower level of sophistication than airliners do.
