Default Info on Avelo?

If anyone knows anything about AVELO, please share.

I hardly see any post about them on APC.

The payscale uploaded on APC seems not bad at all
but how are the schedulings, people, base, seniority, company culture in reality?

Interested in burbank base.

Thanks a million in advance

There is an Avelo thread that hasn't had new posts in a bit so it's been moved to the 2nd page, but it has a lot of good info.

The most important thing to know about Avelo is that it's new so there are a lot of moving and changing pieces. They are not afraid to try new things and if it doesn't work they aren't afraid to change course. That can be exciting or scary. I see it as exciting. It's currently line bidding but we should have pbs eventually. So if your senior you can bid a pretty nice schedule and if your junior you get what everyone else doesn't want. Being on reserve sucks. The crews I work with are great. The bases operate independently for the most part. I am on the East Coast so I can't really speak to anything regarding Burbank specifically. It is our most senior base (maybe tied with Orlando). The most junior FO was hired March 2024 and the most junior CA was hired April 2023.

I enjoy working here and plan to be here until I retire. Perfect? No, but I feel like I'm treated well, compensated fairly and I'm home most nights.

Being completely realistic, unless you're over 60 that's probably not happening. Small startups either get bought, or liquidate at some point during an industry shift or downturn. Even the recent (this century) big startups are mostly struggling right now.

Few investors actually intend to grow a startup to the point where it could even begin to compete with the established players. The actual business model is to leverage low startup labor costs for a while, and harvest valuable gates and slots, some of which are reserved for new or small airlines. Once you've acquired enough gates/slots somebody will buy you out for that reason alone. O somebody will buy to keep somebody else from doing it first, maybe via a bidding war

This is true for startups competing against Legacy carriers but it’s a bit different for niche carriers. Nobody’s bought Allegiant yet.

Allegiant doesn't typically have slots anywhere people want them. For instance allegiant isn't exactly clogging up gates at JFK where people would want to buy them. They're out at smaller airports which has kept them safe from acquisition. Actually think avelo might be safe for the same reason.
