See you are combining 2 things. Staff traveler and listing as a non rev, zed, or anything else are completely different than the jumpseat. OAL jumpseater, you wait. DAL jumpseater, if someone else is listed you wait until 15 and if that pilot does not show up you get it.
And I’m not defending crap. Nice try. I even stated such. I hate the way we do things and constantly fill out surveys and write up poor practices.

LOL nice reading comprehension. He's saying you can check the loads via the staff traveler app and you'll have a good idea if you're getting on ahead of time.

I can count the number of times a Delta guy rolled up 15 prior and bumped me on one hand. Really I don't need a hand because it's zero. Delta pilots can list ahead of time just like any other mainline pilot and it would be pretty unforeseen for it to happen.

The entire company is planning for an event that literally almost never happens. Meanwhile everyone is inconvenienced for nothing.

I don't know of any company that doesn't give preference to its own employees for thier own JS. 15 mintues is when the gate door is closed, and the last boarding happens. Surely you are not suggesting that an OAL should get preference before that?

Dude, I'm impressed by how dense you're being, but I'm not surprised given the position you've taken and responses you've given.

I'm not even going to reply to this because it's so over the top missing the point several people have been making it's not worth repeating.

Dude, what 'responses'? This is the first post I've made in this whole mess.

Slow your roll a bit.

Then if you know you are getting on, why are you bothering about the jumpseat?
And most of the time, no gate agent starts clearing nonrevs from our OWN company more than 30 minutes out domestically because that’s the cut off to change your priority. Then after they deal with that they get to you. I hate the system too, but dang, so sorry the free ride has you that upset.

Lol I thought you were the other guy. We explained to him that you can just be removed if the Delta guy shows up last minute. It's really not a problem.

It's actually happened to me a couple of times in the last month. Luck of the draw, timing, whatever. I still got the last seat in the back in the end, but had to check the bag.

It would be nice if the gate agent would pink tag or crew tag the bag of the OAL pilot who boards last so they can get it at the jetway instead of going to baggage claim - especially on the RJs that we frequently commute on, but that seems to be an infrequent thing. I've had one gate agent do it automatically, and I've had others insist that they couldn't (I didn't question it when they said so) do that for an OAL pilot. I don't know what the actual policy is or even if there is one. The goalposts for Gate Agents in general seem to move a lot.

There is no pink or valet tagging of luggage except on crjs, even for us. We have a questionable policy where, if we are in uniform, we can take our bags ourselves to the forward compartment and pick it up there after the flight. But only for our bag.

Boarding Preference 15 prior is not what he is saying. The mainline carriers can list for the jumpseat on their own carrier up to a week in advance. If they are listed for the jumpseat a week prior, they already have priority and preference over offline jumpers.
