No it's not.
The rule at AA is to be at the airport 1 hour before departure time. No other attendance policy exists.
Heck AA even doesn't have a set time you're required to be at the jet, it only say be there to be able to perform all your duties. This isn't United where you have a crew from brief to fly your xna turn.

2 reasons:
1. It’s required per the PWA at every airline I know of. That’s a stupid game to play with a multi million $$ career.
2. It starts your clock for FDP and pay. Especially with our 1:1pay every minute over 10 hours, this is important. Also starting the clock for when you time out and rest rules is also important.

-the company wanted to renegotiate (increase) the limits on 4/5 day trips
-the concept wasn't APA's idea
-certain APA "subject matter expert(s)" want more flying/day rather than less spread out over more days
-APA is incapable of thinking outside the box, given how lucrative 1:1 over 10 would be during IROPS (which we all know are really normal ops)

Guys GUYS! You can't tell Delta pilots that you have something better than them. Their archaic rules are industry standard and nobody is allowed to dissent! Now go be a good white collar worker and earn that profit sharing and get your butt to airport in case they need you. Don't even think about being a commuter either. Everyone should live in base according to their CPO. That's what good pilots do.
My point was this:
1. Report time for your trip is report time for your trip. I’ll be at the plane when I have to, delay included into that metric.
2. Even if you don’t get extra pay why would accept a later report to start a trip when you were already awake expecting to fly? Start your FDP clock, time out when you time out.
Oh, and over 50% of Delta commutes, nice try. Never once have I said we are the greatest at anything. And AGAIN AS PREVIOUSLY POINTED OUT, the title of this thread has Delta in it. In the general area of threads.

I never said anything of the sort, and I’m not anywhere “in case they need me” unless required by the PWA while on reserve. And good luck trying to get me on the phone when on a layover or on a sit. Know when you can be legally contactable and don’t answer the phone otherwise.
