The point is, insinuating "come to DL, our 7ER flying is great and is way better than narrowbody Airbus flying" makes very little sense when considering a 20+ year career.
Delta is following in American's footsteps through an aggressive fleet renewal and simplification plan. The older fleets will eventually dissappear - DL leadership has been very clear about that and has intelligently built up an order book proactively.

Group IV widebodies: American has 126, Delta has 120. United has 183. Go to UAL if you want widebody.

"Group IV" doesn't include the 767-300 at DL, so DL has more international today than what the above might portray. Plus, as the 763 is retired over the next 5ish years, they are being replaced by "Group IV" aircraft on a 1:1 basis. That's absolutely going to happen, adding lots of "true" WB vacancies. DL has 46 firm WB orders, with 20 options (very likely to execute, IMO), and that's all in the pretty near term. There is executive talk about growing the International on our own metal even further. As always, I'll believe that when I see it.
Definitely not trying to get into a measuring contest, just trying to add context. I think UA has a ton of 787's on order, and will likely safely stay the biggest WB operator in the US. Whereas AA doesn't currently have a particularly large WB order book.

Delta has 163 WB’a active and 47 more in order. 44 of which are 767-300 ER’s, which pay less and 4 are being retired this year. That’s the fact.

The 757/767 at United also does some of the best flying in their whole system out of IAD and EWR. Who cares about the pay rate for year 1, it’s all the same. This guy is a troll lol

It’s just that the 757/767 is a unique structure. And the reason it’s so super junior is NYC is an expensive place to live near along with covering 3 airports which makes commuting painful.
Back before Covid I was on a 757 jumpseat out of JFK, and the FO had been the plug in NYC ER for 3 years. The post Covid craziness plus the eventual demise of the fleet on the horizon has changed the game. It’s still got the best destinations in Europe hands down.
