Weird way to say that is the woman DL illegally retaliated against
FWIW from what I was told that “obscure safety issue” was DL not complying with 117 by automatically applying extensions without concurrence of the crew.

Yes. Her story is quite a saga. Long story short. She made waves, and made them in an inappropriate way. Delta chose to try and deem her insane rather than simply fire her. To do that the company used a corrupt psychologist. KP took Delta to court to fight back getting no help from ALPA. She won her court case in a ruling that was very negative toward a lot of high up Delta/FAA people. I’m 99% she retired shortly there after to continue her career as an author.
I'm kinda curious how the 67 crowd is comparing themselves to her.
For those that want to know more the ruling against the company is online somewhere I’m sure someone will post it again. If you don’t want to wait, you can search APC and find a link.

I think you are correct on all of those. And as a commuter myself I would not like 117 rules applied to my commute in, seeing as there was no effort to include driving in to work in the same way, and it is easier to nap in the back, than behind the wheel (well, safer anyways). But, as a commuter, I can see some of the why too.

I think the SMS issue and 117 extension issue is what got her whistleblower status. I can’t see how the commuting thing would have done that as the regs clearly do not include commuting as duty, just like mowing my lawn before an afternoon sign in isn't duty.

Older guy, not against 67, because it would be better for me. If it doesn't happen, it doesn't. If it turns out 65+1d is too old to fly, so be it. Not against higher medical standards. Also not against paying more taxes now, and having my SS adjusted so it remains a viable program for those younger than me. Not even going to quote the more hateful on either side. Us fighting each other definitely does not help us.
Higher medical standards than the draconian AME guide moderated only by rubber stamping and a system reliant on self disclosure?
The SS fix is easy. Remove the income withholdings cap, so we bill the 3 richest men and richest woman would fund it by themselves. The rest of us top earners would build a reserve for the next generation.
