Lots of things were better in the past. We once walked off the aircraft straight onto the bus in CDG and then straight to the hotel. One day they spot checked a couple of crews leaving CDG. My flight was one of them. Let's just say it didn't go well. Next time I came to CDG we had to clear customs.

I've also flown to Moscow, Kiev, Istanbul, (I'm a DAL guy) and many many other cool places we no longer service. Security was never an issue there for crew. In fact out of all, Instanbul was like a breeze.

Your comment is not germain so not sure what your point is. Other than to flex a little. Good on you. Flex noted.

My worse security experience is always out of the place I commute from. TSA there is out of control.
I don't understand how AMS could be any better? Go through a separate entrance, show ID, go through a side door, show passport, walk to gate. No real security involved apart from an occasional hand swab, and no lines anywhere. It's the smoothest airport I've ever operated out of internationally.

In Asia you go through normal security pretty much everywhere, same thing in South America, and most places in Europe as well. AMS is amazing. DAL must do it differently.

I was pleasantly surprised with the speed and efficiency of LHR this year. Could have been an off day…but my wife and I came out of security both giving praise.

There was a time we didn't do any of this. But that time has passed 2 + decades ago. Something happened, then a guy put a bomb in his shoe and here we are. How you got to what we do internationally and where, not sure what you're trying to prove with that.

I don't like AMS. You do. That's fine with me. Enjoy.

But only in the UK are crews subject to the L&G limitation. It's frustrating to say the least. And defies all logic.

The Brits don't practice logic or common sense.

don’t forget the underwear guy. Good thing we don’t have to put our underwear in the tray at security.

Don't give them any ideas!

Lately, I've been getting the feeling they've upped the sensitivity of the metal detectors at least in the US. The first thing they tell me is to take the belt off, despite having a plastic buckle... never set it off before and haven't changed my uniform so what gives..

I've been feeling the same way. Plastic belt buckle. Shoes that I know have no metal in them. Yet somehow they are magically setting off the machine. A great way to start my day in a ****ed-off mood.
