Also, don't government publications require pilots holding an ATP to "be of good moral character"?
Could not agree with you more. It's always amazed me the disparity between SIDA badge holders and crew. That said, the FA's and Pilots need to be in separate risk pools for 'random' calcluations.

Agreed. Pilots have way too much to lose and definitely wouldn't use their flight bag as a gun bag and then forget to take their gun out

Oh great this again. How many pilots are screened at KCM daily, weekly, monthly and yearly. Out of those what is the number of "gun toating rootin' tootin' shootin' buckaroos" with ammo in their pilot purse(s)?

Juxtapose that with how many pilots have been busted for muling drugs or drug money etc as compared to FA's?

Pilots, and pilots only, need to be in a seperate "random pool" not the insanity we have now. Also, why is TSA conducting LEO type searches to begin with? I guess they forget we have a crash axe readily available to us at any time. Good grief. Just asking for some sanity here, nothing more.

Have any of you guys ever flown out of the UK? Good grief your heads would explode with the utter lack of logic. We're treated like Al Qaeda.

Good old Airtran days in ATL. Employee lot for all airside employees was outside of the airport perimeter. You waved your SIDA badge that ALL employees had and were waved in. From there the bus took you straight to ATL C gates with zero screening. All rampers, gate agents, mechanics, pilots, FAs.... But the pilots and FAs were required to take the train back to the terminal to go through KCM, with zero ways to actually check if anyone did. And take their bags with them... Because if a pilot or FA was going to do something illegal they would for sure not break that rule. Theater. All of it.

I though AMS was pretty painless and a nice crew center. Has it changed? London was the worst. They once spent 10 minutes taking my luggage apart to find my 3 ounce bottle of bug spray from my last Accra trip. They put me in the book! Might even be on my permanent record! Funny part was the Flight attendants stuffed all their illegal liquids between the seats on the bus!

Yes, I have, Mr Passive agressive. Probably longer than you've been flying in total (see what I did there). It used to be way better in the past (I'm talking post 9/11). However, I don't fly AMS trips anymore. Much better places to go. Oh yeah don't use mouthwash the morning you fly out of there either. Might get some unwanted attention.

I've also flown to Moscow, Kiev, Istanbul, (I'm a DAL guy) and many many other cool places we no longer service. Security was never an issue there for crew. In fact out of all, Instanbul was like a breeze.

Your comment is not germain so not sure what your point is. Other than to flex a little. Good on you. Flex noted.

My worse security experience is always out of the place I commute from. TSA there is out of control.

Yes compared to UK, AMS is better but it used to be way better. Like i said, I don't go there anymore. Much better places to go to.
