You’re still subject to governance by those authorities, even if you don’t get caught.
You never fail to live down to your reputation.

Alaska Department of Fish and Game might have something to say about this.

Even if you do, many states do not allow you to renounce your citizenship unless adopting citizenship in another recognized state, they know it's a tax dodge.

Some states will never allow you to renounce, and if you're not under the tax jurisdiction of another recognized state (ie work permit) you'll still owe them.

They gotta find you first.

1.3 persons per square mile
Alaska is a large, sparsely populated state. The land mass of the state encompasses 570,641 square miles, averaging a population density of just 1.3 persons per square mile. This is the lowest population density of any state.
And the Dept of fish and game has a total of 1700 employees.

Exactly. That's why I consider myself a minarchist and not an actual anarchist. We need some government, but it must be absolutely minimal and retstrained... essentially only to protect individual rights and provide justice, nothing more. And it doesn't even do those things very well. But anarchy = democracy = mob rule.

While it is likely the best currently or the best in history, that still doesn't excuse it's shortcomings, many of which have gotten worse since its inception. Granted there is no perfect system of course, but we can do a lot better.

Don't confuse "society" with "government"

The US economy isn't doing great, and really hasn't been since at least the 50's, and really since the 3rd central bank was formed.

Why settle for a bad system that doesn't work very well when we could have a better system? I'm not complacent.

You’re still under the jurisdiction and obligations of the state even if you aren’t caught. Lots of people evade taxes but they’re still subject to them.

It’s wild that most of us don’t realize this. Yeah, the system could be better, but good lord look at your life now vs. what life was like for people 1000 years ago and what it is even now for 90% of people around the world.

you should all be kissing your lucky stars the random lottery of birth has you where you are instead of dreaming about some utopia. History has also shaken out in your favor pretty well. I’d be cautious about wanting big change to whatever system we have now.
Yes, I'm glad that we are only taxed at 40% instead of 60% or 90%.... /sarcasm
