Churning the generational elites? Taking their inheritance money away from their decedents? Aren’t you a self-proclaimed libertarian?

In some ways, but not strictly. It's not entirely practical in the real world.

I'm not suggesting taxing it AFTER it's been inherited.

Agreed. You can pass *some* money down, just not enough to enables dozens of future generations to live off off of trust funds, and exercise power and influence while completely disconnected from said socioety.

You should absolutely be able to help your kids through college, help them with a down payment on a home, etc. You could even have an adjustable scale... if your kid(s) are teenagers when you die, they get more than if they're in their 50's. Disabled kids can inherit more, etc, etc.
Sounds like Socialism.

And whose money is it? It doesn’t belong to the government. How many times can the government tax it?

Private property rights? Yeah sure. See what happens if you don’t pay property taxes.

My money belongs to me, not to the government or to anyone else. I’ve paid my
taxes, and now am doing everything I legally can to reduce my tax burden and keep as much of it as I can.

Our government is the biggest scam artist and waster of my tax dollars—and also the one entity that has devalued our currency for decades more than anything else.

Which revolution? The Bolsheviks in 1917?

As I've been raised to understand it (for whatever its worth), the spirit of the American way of life was (mostly) unrestricted liberty in terms of personal property, with the Feds taking the role of gatekeeper for any would-be tyrants that might arise from said unrestricted liberty. And then, in turn, we the people held the duty to gatekeep the Fed if it became a tyrant itself.

Now with any system, it requires its components to actually do thier job. Does it feel like anyone is doing their job?

if you don’t exist, it’s not your money either. Just tax inheritance as income (under normal income rules while marking to market any assets), since that’s what it is.

I would argue for the most part that the churn at the upper crust already largely occurs naturally - “rags to riches to rags” is a real thing. Then you have the truly extraordinary legacy-wealth families that have found sustainability…can’t say I’d support them being limited in any way. Except for that Soros guy; he can go to hell…pretty sure his money will be funding the destruction of society until, well, the destruction of society.

Sure beats running through the same boring list of where you live, married, kids, pets, etc... It's always fun to see people talk about the things they're passionate about. If they're too obstinate to debate, I just say that I've been wrong before too. Lol, that's always fun.
exactly! Keep shop talk to a min and tell me about your passions. I flew with a guy who was a professional kite flyer. Went all over to compete flying kites, yes kites like what kids fly.
Didnt even know that existed. Pretty interesting.
I've learned enough about smoking meats, bourbon and exotic cars tonalst a lifetime. Stuff I wouldnt probably know much about.
