Cloths define nothing anymore. Rich people dress casual and people who really can’t afford high end are mortgaging their financial health to impress.

You do you though.

I don't know the brand 'cause I've worn it off the inside of the shoe, but my first pair of big boy shoes I got 7 yrs ago came from Macys and they might be close to what you want. At the time I was tired of wearing heavy flight boots so all I wanted was the lightest pair of dress shoes in the building. Turns out the sole is a bit on the thin side and the tread wore out fast so they're slippery on wet surfaces, but I can feel every detail of every surface irregularity I'm walking on.

So... maybe just start trying on shoes at a nice department store like Macy's, and pick whatever feels lightest?

I had the same problem a couple years back sourcing a pair of minimalist professional looking shoes, so I just tattooed a pair of loafers on my feet. However the upkeep my toe nails required became its own new problem. I later had them removed cheaply via a guy I found on Craigslist.

The times you can get him to ware pants and tennis shoes (WEIRD), are they New Balance?

Way better toe grip on the skate board through the terminal when you wear slippers.

Ive been wearing the vivobarfoot ra for about 15 years while commuting. I rarely get comments but when i do its just "wow those look comfy". Even a hardcore unform dork would agree they meet the unfirm standards.

Lem’s makes fantastic zero drop shoes. The 9to5’s hold a great shine, last for years, and are very comfortable. They also make a black leather Boulder Boot that is comfortable, but doesn’t hold as bright of a shine. I signed up for text alerts, and sometimes they’ll have a decent sale.

I am a fan of zero drop shoes with a wide toe box. Around the house I almost never wear shoes. So you could say I've bought into the idea that modern shoes are terrible for our feet. I've been wearing the black version of these for the past 6 months or so and they are comfortable. The wide toe box is great. Do they look goofy? Yes. Has anybody mentioned that to me? No. I would recommend them as "dress shoes" that won't freeze your feet with the standard narrow foot construction. I say all this as someone that appreciates the aesthetics of well made dress shoes like Alden's.

Edit to add that they have never set off the most sensitive of metal dectectors either.
